Member Joshua of the group SEVENTEEN reinterpreted the American duo DJ SLANDER's hit song 'Love Is Gone (Acoustic)' in his own unique style.
According to Pledis Entertainment, the song 'Love Is Gone (with JOSHUA of SEVENTEEN)' sung by Joshua was released today (25th) at 1 p.m. It is a song that calmly and immersively expresses the heart of the speaker who has lost love. Joshua's smooth voice and delicate emotional expression blend with a minimal arrangement to create a poignant atmosphere.
This collaboration was realized when SLANDER, who has claimed to be a fan of SEVENTEEN's music, reached out with a love call. It is said that they proposed the collaboration thinking that 'Love Is Gone (with JOSHUA of SEVENTEEN)' sung by Joshua would resonate with many people.
The original song 'Love Is Gone (Acoustic),' released in November 2019, was sung by American singer-songwriter Dylan Matthew. This song gained popularity through word of mouth online and continues to be loved consistently. Its total streaming on Spotify has reached 600 million, and the music video's YouTube views have exceeded 280 million.
SLANDER said, "I am very excited to release a new version with SEVENTEEN's Joshua. He has managed to keep the original song's emotion while injecting fresh vocal melodies and tones, giving the song a new breath." He added, "I hope everyone who has listened to the original song will definitely check out 'Love Is Gone (with JOSHUA of SEVENTEEN)'."
Joshua noted, "I am happy and grateful to be able to present a song that I usually enjoy singing in my own voice. I will continue to strive to showcase my own colors through various music in the future."
Joshua, a member of the SEVENTEEN vocal team, has collaborated with various international artists based on his unique vocal talent and solid singing ability. He has featured in the song '17 (feat. Joshua and DK of SEVENTEEN)' by famous American singer-songwriter Pink Sweat$, and has also participated in the legendary boy band New Kids On The Block's revival album, making his presence felt in the global music market.
SEVENTEEN, which Joshua is a part of, will hold their new world tour 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_]' starting from the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 13-14. The tour title combines 'NEW,' meaning 'new,' with a blank space (_), representing the new challenges they are starting and the limitless possibilities that will unfold through them.
