Actress Uhm Jung-hwa is challenging herself with a romantic comedy for the first time in 10 years through "My Troublesome Star," while selecting her next project, a thriller titled "The Only" centered on maternal love.

"The Only" is a female-centered thriller that tells the story of a mother who loses her daughter to a brutal crime and decides to seek revenge for her daughter's death. The specific programming and airing schedule are undecided, and discussions are expected to begin in earnest after casting is complete.
In the drama, Uhm Jung-hwa plays Choi Ji-won, a renowned infertility specialist who obtains the DNA of a murderer after her daughter's death, abandoning the law and ethics to clone the killer. Choi Ji-won is a character caught in conflict between the hope of finding the murderer who killed her daughter as her child grows up and the fear of having created a monster.
Meanwhile, Uhm Jung-hwa debuted in 1992 with the film "Marriage Story" and began her career as a singer the following year with the release of an album.
