Singer Oh Seung-ha, a former contestant of 'Miss Trot 3', has become a promotional ambassador for her hometown, Hoengseong.
Oh participated in the ambassador appointment ceremony held at the Hoengseong County Office in Gangwon Province on the afternoon of the 24th. The ceremony was attended by Hoengseong County Mayor Kim Myung-ki, Hoengseong County Council Chairperson Pyo Han-sang, as well as county officials and guests.
Hoengseong County Mayor Kim Myung-ki said, "Oh Seung-ha, who has a broad artistic capacity encompassing traditional Korean music and trot, was appointed as an ambassador in recognition of her contributions to elevating Hoengseong's status through her national activities. I expect that Oh Seung-ha's active efforts, which encompass both traditional art and popular music, will effectively communicate the beauty and charm of Hoengseong."
Oh Seung-ha expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am really honored and thankful to be appointed as the promotional ambassador for my hometown, Hoengseong. I will do my best to widely promote the charm and pride of Hoengseong through various stages and activities to enhance its cultural and tourism capabilities."
Having graduated from the National Institute of Korean Traditional Music and Hanyang University in the Korean traditional music department, Oh Seung-ha is a holder of the title of bearer of the National Intangible Heritage of Gyeonggi Minyo, and she received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the 21st Gangwon National Gyeong-Seo and Gangwon Sound Competition. In 2024, she gained recognition as a trot singer from a traditional music background by appearing on TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 3.'
Recognized for her vocal skills based on traditional Korean music, Oh Seung-ha often reveals her Hoengseong origins through her regular broadcasts and stage activities, demonstrating her deep love for her hometown.
Currently active with her latest songs 'The Man from Nowhere' and 'Night in Bundang', Oh Seung-ha is participating in various traditional culture festivals and overseas performances while also appearing as a guest singer in Nam Jin's debut 60th anniversary concert '2025 Nam Jin National Tour,' receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience.
