Singer Eve once again unfolds her sensuous musical world, continuing her narrative.
Eve released the audio and music video for the pre-released song "White Cat" from her third EP "Soft Error" on various music sites at noon on the 24th.
The pre-released song "White Cat" embodies Eve's unique narrative and emotions, foreshadowing the atmosphere of her third EP "Soft Error," set to be released on August 7. After establishing the "Eve genre" steadily since her solo debut, she has infused a sense of peculiar loneliness and emotions into trendy and sophisticated sounds.
"White Cat" metaphorically depicts a Persian cat abandoned on the street, which possesses a "perfect appearance" but yearns to break free from an identity created for the purpose of being loved, yet remains adrift. It expresses a state that seems to comply with reality, yet is entangled in complex emotions, using Eve's characteristic dreamy synths and captivating tone to touch the listener's feelings.
"I got body made of fur / Can't be better than tonight" and "Let nobody in this world / Can't be better than tonight" contain a resolve akin to resignation, which aligns with the emotional line throughout the song, leaving a profound aftertaste.
The music video, released together with the song, delicately depicts Eve's emotions symbolized by a cat, swaying between domestication and escape. In the experience of being chased by someone and also being domesticated, Eve silently conveys her emotions, immersing the viewer.
As Eve hinted at a deeper musical world through the pre-released song "White Cat," expectations for her upcoming regular EP "Soft Error," set to be released next month, are also rising.
