Actor Jung Uk has launched a meaningful sharing campaign at the top of a mountain amid the sweltering heat.
Jung recently encouraged hikers at the summit of Sapaesan Mountain in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, to participate in donations by distributing 200 ice creams for free. The campaign aims to spread a positive influence that can be practiced in everyday life.
This campaign is called 'Unexpected sweetness encountered on the mountain', abbreviated as 'Mountain. Sweet. Share.' If participants post a photo of themselves enjoying the ice cream on social media with '#ShareWithJungUk, #Mountain.Sweet.Share', 1,000 won will be donated for each post. The collected donation will be used as funds for the marginalized.
Jung noted, "The joy that can be given with just one ice cream at the summit of a mountain in midsummer, and that smile leading to a donation is truly rewarding. I believe that small actions can gather to create a greater warmth."
On this day, the hiking club 'Blue Hexagon Association' also participated. It is an unofficial organization aiming for a healthy hiking culture and small acts of sharing. Jung and the Blue Hexagon Association will continue the 'Mountain. Sweet. Share.' campaign, starting with Sapaesan, by directly visiting mountains across the country in a guerrilla sharing event style. Unexpected encounters are expected to bring a more special joy and warm impressions of delightful sharing to hikers.
The agency Chan Entertainment stated, "This campaign, in which actor Jung Uk participated, is a good example of conveying the meaning of sharing that can be easily practiced in everyday life," adding, "We hope many people will work together to create a culture of smiling and sharing in nature. We plan to continue long-term social contribution activities starting with this campaign."
Jung's YouTube channel 'Jung Uk's Hiking' features Jung encouraging donations by holding an ice cream on the mountain summit. All processes of the campaign and donation status will be transparently disclosed through YouTube in the future.
