Kkokkomu discusses Mr. Kwon, the only person that those who went missing or were found dead in Ganghwa Island met last.
On the 24th, SBS's Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail (directed by Lee Geun-byeol, Lee Dong-won, Go Hye-rin, hereafter 'Kkokkomu') will talk about the series of missing persons incidents in Ganghwa Island under the title 'If you meet him, you disappear.' In particular, actress Park Ha-na, actor Park Myung-hoon, and the multinational girl group MEOVV's member Gawon will appear as listeners. The appearance of Gawon from MEOVV is particularly significant as it marks the group's first appearance on terrestrial television.
The broadcast on that day will cover the series of missing person incidents in Ganghwa Island that spanned an astonishing 13 years from 2001. The commonality among the missing individuals is that the 'one person' they last met just before going missing was the same individual. The last person they met was Mr. Kwon, who was famously wealthy in land in Ganghwa Island.
How did those associated with Mr. Kwon suddenly disappear? In 2001, a woman in her 40s who said she was returning home went missing. An individual named Lee, who worked at the sashimi restaurant operated by Mr. Kwon, vanished after an argument with him. Years later, even Mr. Kwon's loyal subordinate, Mr. Jo, disappeared. According to witnesses, Mr. Jo also had an argument with Mr. Kwon before he vanished. Mr. Kwon, a prime suspect in both missing person cases, denied the allegations, saying, 'I don't know' and 'I'll acknowledge it if you find the body,' and was released due to a lack of crucial evidence.
Later, a pension manager named Mr. Park was found dead in a mountainous area. Was it a shocking coincidence? The last person Mr. Park met before his death was also Mr. Kwon. There had been a dispute between Mr. Park and Mr. Kwon over land issues. Mr. Kwon was urgently arrested. Showing signs of anxiety, he asked a detective, 'What happens if I say it was an accident?' As his warrant was dismissed, Mr. Kwon suddenly denied the crime and claimed his innocence. Thus, Mr. Kwon, who had been a strong suspect in the three cases, once again escaped the law. Eight years later, he became a prime suspect once more when Mr. Lim, who was trying to buy land from Mr. Kwon, was murdered.
Could all these missing and death cases indeed be the work of Mr. Kwon? And can the police prove his crimes? As the story shrouded in mystery builds tension, CCTV footage showing Mr. Kwon's actions will be released through Kkokkomu, adding to the shock. Additionally, the video of Mr. Kwon brazenly denying his crimes and confidently asserting his innocence will spark curiosity.
Also, alongside Gawon from MEOVV, who made her first appearance on terrestrial television through Kkokkomu, actors Park Ha-na and Park Myung-hoon will captivate the audience as listeners. Park Ha-na reportedly exploded with anger, saying, 'It's evil. It's not a human being. This person must face divine punishment,' raising expectations for the vivid contributions of the listeners.
Meanwhile, Kkokkomu is a program where three 'storytellers' share their insights from their own studies with their 'story friends' in the most ordinary spaces, airing every Thursday at 10:20 p.m. on SBS.
