Actress Um Jung-hwa has chosen the motherhood-themed thriller "The Only" as her next project.
According to OSEN reports on the 24th, Um Jung-hwa will appear in the new drama "The Only (THE ONLY)" as her next project.
"The Only" is a female-centric thriller that depicts the events that unfold when a mother, who loses her daughter to a brutal crime, decides to take revenge for her daughter's death.
Um Jung-hwa will play the role of Choi Ji-won, a prominent infertility specialist who betrays law and ethics after obtaining a killer's DNA following her daughter's death and starts to clone the murderer.
The specific scheduling and airing date for "The Only" are undecided, but discussions are expected to begin in earnest after the casting is completed.
Um Jung-hwa, who has showcased new acting skills through various works such as the films "Haeundae," "Dancing Queen," "Montage," "Miss Wife," "Okay Madam," the dramas "December's Tropical Night," "The Knife-Wielding Oh Soo-jung," "Witch's Love," "You Are Too Much," "Our Blues," and "Dr. Cha Jeong-sook," has chosen "The Only" as her next project, where she will display deep motherhood.
Meanwhile, Um Jung-hwa will return to the small screen with the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "My Troublesome Star," which premieres on Aug. 18.
"My Troublesome Star" is a romantic comedy that unfolds as Korea's top star suddenly becomes an ordinary middle-aged woman, and Um Jung-hwa plays Bong Cheong-ja, a top star who has lost all her memories from the past 25 years.
