Comedian Bae Yeon-jeong shared her battle with pancreatic cancer and the long hours of nursing.
On the 23rd, a video titled 'Bae Yeon-jeong, who had her ailing mother undergo 13 surgeries and cared for her for 55 years' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Jung Ho-geun's Life Shindang.'
That day, Bae Yeon-jeong said, 'I have faced death three times. I went to the gates of the afterlife,' and added, 'I had three tumors in my pancreas, and the doctor said there was no hope at all.'
She continued, 'They almost cut out my pancreas, and only 5cm remains. They cut my stomach and liver in half, and I couldn't walk for four years.'
She also mentioned her husband. Bae Yeon-jeong said, 'My husband saved me and took care of my mother until the end. Sometimes he makes me upset, but he is like a father, a husband, and a mother to me.'
She shared about her family as well. Bae Yeon-jeong said, 'There is my great-grandmother, who created a familial bond when I was born. She raised me until I was 10 years old. My mom only gave birth to me,' and added, 'My mom was sick all over. I had her undergo 13 surgeries and cared for her for 55 years.'
She also stated, 'On June 16th at 9 p.m., after she finished a bowl of porridge, I went into the room to change her diaper, and she was already cold.'
Meanwhile, Bae Yeon-jeong debuted as a singer in 1969 and began her broadcasting activities through the MBC comedian recruitment in 1971.
