JYP Entertainment boy group NEXZ entered the 'holy ground of Japanese performances,' Budokan, and met with a total of about 18,000 fans over two days.
NEXZ (Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Seita, So Geon, Huey, Yuki) held two solo performances as part of their debut nationwide tour 'NEXZ LIVE TOUR 2025 "One Bite"' at Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, on July 18 and 19. Having officially debuted locally on Aug. 21, 2024, they proved their growth and popularity by standing on the symbolic Budokan stage of Japanese pop music about a year later.
With the Budokan performance marking a turning point in their tour, NEXZ caught attention by releasing a new VCR video announcing the second half of the tour, and they showcased a rich setlist of 20 songs, including 'Simmer (Japanese Ver.)' and tracks from their second Japanese EP album 'One Bite,' which was released on July 16. In particular, the stage of the latest Japanese song 'One Bite' left a strong impact. A dramatic setup featured a backdrop of broken LED screens, a massive lock, and chain sets, while the seven members delivered the song, depicting the process of breaking the world's norms and rules to find 'the true self,' with solid live performances and captivating choreography that heightened the excitement.
During the talk corner, warm episodes reflecting the members' closeness drew smiles from the audience. On the first day of the performance, a cake celebrating the Oricon daily album ranking No. 1 for their new album 'One Bite' was prepared, and on the second day, a surprise video looking back at their year-long activities since their debut was presented, along with fans' flash events that conveyed emotions. NEXZ expressed gratitude, saying, "We were able to celebrate today because all seven members were together. Above all, performing at Budokan is thanks to NEX2Y (fandom name: Nexty). I felt once again today how happy I am right now," and showed tears of gratitude.
Meanwhile, NEXZ has been riding a relentless upward trend, ranking No. 1 on the Oricon daily album ranking for their second Japanese EP album 'One Bite' as of July 15, and reaching the top of the Billboard Japan weekly album sales chart's 'Top Album Sales' (aggregated period: 2025.07.14~2025.07.20). NEXZ, who engraved their name on the Budokan, the 'holy ground of Japanese performances,' will continue the hot tour fervor until Osaka on Aug. 21.
