Actress Yang Mi-ra has clarified her position amid the controversy surrounding her affirmation of the baggage regulations.
On the 24th, Yang said, "I was quite astonished to see sensational articles that were factually incorrect yesterday, and thought that if I just stayed quiet, it would be fine... I was going to let it go. But if I stay quiet like this, I will become someone who knowingly puts batteries in the carrier while being aware of the baggage regulations and flaunts it like the articles suggest."
She continued, "Since it was a trip with a child, I had a lot of luggage, and while packing three weeks' worth of things in a hurry just before departure, I didn't realize that the power bank had gone into the baggage. Fortunately, it was checked at the airport before boarding, and I took it out without any issues before getting on the plane."
She revealed, "However, the fact that this situation was reported as if I had intentionally violated the regulations and proudly certified it is not true, and honestly, I was very bewildered."
Yang emphasized, "I want to make it clear that I didn't deliberately put it in without knowing the regulations; it was a very thin power bank that I didn't realize had slipped between my clothes."
She added, "I posted it to indicate that I had been busy and scattered-minded since before departure, but not detailing the situation led to misunderstandings. Still, it is indeed my fault that I could not check my luggage one more time, and I will be more careful in the future. I have felt very upset over this for the past couple of days, but now that I have organized my thoughts like this, I feel a little relieved."
