On the 23rd, the production presentation for the new KBS2 drama 'My Girlfriend is a Style Guy' (written by Lee Hena, directed by Yoo Kwan-mo) was held online.
'My Girlfriend is a Style Guy' is a work based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, depicting a romantic comedy between Kim Ji-eun (Arin), who dramatically transforms into a flower boy overnight, and her boyfriend Park Yun-jae (Yoon San-ha), who cannot let go of her. The original webtoon has also been released in Chinese and Thai, proving its global popularity beyond Korea.
Arin, who has demonstrated stable acting skills in dramas such as 'Alchemy of Souls', 'Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow', and 'Opening 2023 - Summer, Love Machine Blues', will rise to the top tier of romantic comedy actresses through 'My Girlfriend is a Style Guy'. The character Kim Ji-eun, played by Arin, is the girlfriend of Park Yun-jae (Yoon San-ha) and transforms into a flower boy due to a family history. Arin vividly portrays a character that oscillates between cuteness, frankness, and confusion.
Arin said, "I really wanted to try a romantic comedy, and when I saw the interesting and refreshing script, I felt excited and my heart raced. I found myself thinking, 'Do I have to play a male role?' while watching the scene where I transform into a man, and I was unsure how to approach it, but Yoo Jung-hoo did a great job, so it seems to have come out fun." Active in 'S-Line' and pursuing an acting career, Arin noted, "Many projects are coming out at the same time, and since the genres are different, I think the differences will be interesting. If 'S-Line' is a bit darker and more stimulating, 'My Girlfriend is a Style Guy' is refreshing, bright, and cheerful, fitting the current weather, so I hope viewers will pay attention to that aspect."
In particular, Arin mentioned, "I tried to pay attention to the details. I'm left-handed, but Yoo Jung-hoo is right-handed, so I tried to match those aspects as well. Yoo Jung-hoo was very considerate, and I think the high quality came from our coordination after watching the footage I filmed." To this, Yoo Jung-hoo responded, "Since Kim Ji-eun is the core character, I thought it would be appropriate for me to adjust to her.
