Kim Jin-young (Dex), embroiled in controversy over his acting skills, shared his feelings about his first drama shoot.
On the 23rd, a video titled "Is this the famous action restaurant? Won Jina and Kim Jin-young (Dex) showcase a perfect action chemistry" was released on ENA's official YouTube channel.
The video captured the scene where Won Jina, who plays Kim Ah-hyun in "The Defects," and Kim Jin-young (Dex), who plays Jung-hyun, harmonize before their action performance.
Atmosphere creator Won Jina displayed a professional demeanor, concentrating and showing no signs of her playful side when filming began. Won Jina said, "It seems to be more fun and a bit more tense than I was worried about. It looks like a good work will come out of it."
Next, Kim Jin-young stood in front of the camera before his first shoot. He remarked, "Acting is my first challenge, and I really respect my senior actors. Today was my first shoot, and it truly seems like it's not something anyone can just do."
In particular, Kim Jin-young added, "I will do my best not to cause any harm to the good work and good actors. As you can see, it's winter. We're filming in very cold conditions," and after finishing the shoot, he thanked the staff, saying, "I think I will feel proud if it is well received when it comes out."
Meanwhile, Kim Jin-young faced controversy over his acting after his hollow gaze, awkward gait, and expressions that detracted from immersion became apparent in scenes where he was supposed to lead the atmosphere.
Some viewers reacted by saying, "He looked robotic," "He needs to practice his acting more," "It's quite a significant role, how will he manage it?" and "You can see he is nervous." Conversely, others commented, "It's not that awkward," and "You can tell he's nervous, but everything else is fine," feeling that given he is still a rookie, there is potential.
Meanwhile, ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama "The Defects" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA.
