The 13th edition of the Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), the first and largest international comedy festival in Asia, will begin its glamorous opening.
From August 29 to September 7, the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) will take place over ten days across Busan, with the performance lineup officially unveiled and ticket sales starting through NOL Interpark.
This year, the festival will feature star comedians who have led the comedy scene in Korea, fresh creators, and delightful comedy artists from around the world, providing a more colorful and rich stage for the audience.
The opening performance of the ceremony on August 29 at the BEXCO Auditorium will be graced by the legendary comedy program "Gag Concert" team. Additionally, the versatile entertainer Park Myung-soo will act as the emcee for the opening performance, with a spectacular stage featuring popular segments.
In addition, various comedic performances will color Busan with humor, including the relatable romantic comedy "I Transferred to Love," featuring Um Ji-yoon, Short Box (Kim Won-hoon, Cho Jin-se), and The Facial Mask (Lee Seon-min, Cho Hoon); the comedy combo show "Comedy Assemble @ BICF" with Bbang Song-guk, Snack Town, Botta, Youth Desk, Ttuk Sa Dae, and Bbang Won; the candid and stylish stand-up comedy show "Seoul Comedy Allstars" featuring Kim Dong-ha, Son Dong-hoon, Song Ha-bin, and Danny Cho; and the cheerful 19+ talk show "All-Audience (Cleavage) Show" hosted by Ahn Young-mi.
Moreover, there will be a comedic feast across genres including "Gag Concert with BICF," presenting fresh stages and vivid live experiences, featuring comedians Shin Yoon-seung and Park Min-seung alongside YouTube stars in "Gag Society"; the spicy 19+ comedy show "Gag Show by Byeon Ki-soo" for adult audiences; the communication-centered talk show "Communication King Malja Halmae Show" with Kim Young-hee and Jeong Beom-kyun; and "Story Episode," where audience interaction occurs directly in the BEXCO Square.
The closing performance "I Am the Dog Singer" will conclude with explosive performances by comedians like Lee Hong-ryeol, Park Seong-ho, Kim Na-hee, the Untalented Three Brothers, Son Heon-soo, Wink, Kim Jae-rong, and Trot Young-i, crossing the realms of comedy and music. Additionally, the English stand-up comedy show "MICF Roadshow in Busan" will further enhance the global laughter.
Notably, this year features an even stronger lineup of international performance teams. Puppet shows that spark imagination, such as "Bunktopia," which involves falling popcorn and dancing snails; the music comedy "Wok 'n' Woll," merging classical and rock; and "The Ultimate Japanese Comedy Show," featuring top Japanese comedians, will deliver laughter that transcends borders.
