Koyote member Baekga's new song has reportedly been deemed ineligible by KBS.
The broadcast of KBS Cool FM on the 23rd, decorated with the 'free speaking' segment, featured Koyote's Baekga and singer Chuu.
On this day, Baekga said, 'My solo album will be released on the 27th.' When Park Myung-soo asked about the new song, Baekga said, 'It's a song I made during the COVID-19 period, and it's coming out after 4 years. Since we couldn't do Koyote activities, I was able to make it.'
Baekga explained, 'I challenged hip-hop for the first time,' adding that the title of the new song is 'I can't speak English.' When Park Myung-soo requested him to sing a line, Baekga hesitated, saying, 'There are curse words, so it's a bit challenging for live,' before performing a line live, excluding the profanity.
Baekga explained, 'There are curse words in it, so it couldn't pass the review, and you can only listen to it on YouTube or music sites. It's a phrase I use most often when going abroad, so I captured my honest feelings in it.'
The review of Baekga's new song 'I can't speak English' was announced on the 9th. KBS stated that Baekga's 'I can't speak English' received an ineligible rating due to lyrics that violate Article 46 of the broadcasting review regulations (restriction of advertising effects).
If deemed ineligible, one can modify or delete the problematic parts and request a reevaluation. Only songs that receive an eligible rating can be aired on KBS programs (TV, radio, etc.).
In relation to this, Baekga said through his social media account, 'Because of my braces, my pronunciation isn't good, so I wrote the lyrics simply. However, there are curse words and brand names in the lyrics, so I couldn't pass the review. Therefore, I can't broadcast it, and you won't be able to hear it on public broadcast. I've decided to just have fun and enjoy my activities. I hope everyone will enjoy it and support me a lot.'
Meanwhile, in the music review results announced on the 23rd, Koyote's new song 'Call Me' received an eligible rating.
