In 'The Defects,' Won Jina and the children launched a counterattack.
In the second episode of the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Defects' (directed by Oh Gi-hwan / written by Ahn So-jung / produced by Group Eight and Take One Studio), which aired on the 22nd (Tuesday), the leader of the refunded children, Kim Ah-hyun (played by Won Jina), confronted a secret organization that was trying to eliminate them. The second episode achieved a nationwide and capital area viewership rating of over 2.0%, with a peak rating of 2.6% in the capital area and 2.5% nationwide (Nielsen Korea paid household standard), marking the highest rating to date, and a rising trend began after just two episodes.

The children's first target was Han Cheol-soo (played by Lim Jae-myung), the father of So-mi (played by Lee Na-eun). Han Cheol-soo appeared to be a highly regarded elementary school principal, but he concealed a gruesome truth. Joo-an (played by Ahn Ji-ho) even disguised himself to approach Han Cheol-soo, and as a result, it was revealed what truly led to So-mi's refund, causing anger. So-mi not only learned that her refund was not due to conflicts with her mother but was a unilateral decision by Han Cheol-soo, but also found out that her mother, who had been searching for her since her sudden disappearance, was hospitalized.
Ultimately, the children secured the VIP membership and related information from Han Cheol-soo. However, So-mi, enraged by Han Cheol-soo's atrocious acts, ultimately lost her composure and made a risky choice, while the sound of gunfire resonated at the end of the broadcast, adding tension to the drama.
Meanwhile, the secret organization and Kim Se-hee (played by Yum Jung-ah) continued their bold actions, heightening the immersion of the show. Se-hee's shocking 'big picture,' related to her belief in creating the perfect child, was also revealed. It was revealed that her daughter's name was also 'Kim Ah-hyun.' This served as a foreshadowing hint linking her to Kim Ah-hyun (played by Won Jina) and raised expectations for the next episode.
