The agency of the group DAY6 apologized again regarding the controversy over excessive invasion of personal information that arose during the fan meeting.
On the 23rd, JYP Entertainment stated through its official social media (SNS) account, "We sincerely apologize to the audience members who suffered due to excessive identification procedures at the entrance to the performance," adding, "We will guide the refund process for the audience who suffered during that process."
The refund target was the ticket purchaser, but it pertains to the audience who were restricted from entry due to excessive identification procedures. Only tickets that have not been processed can be verified electronically and refunded.
Previously, DAY6 held a 10th-anniversary fan meeting at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium from the 18th to the 20th. There were several claims that some staff performing identity checks during the entry process demanded excessive information. It is reported that they checked the address and resident registration number, stating that the photo ID did not match the physical appearance, and even requested financial certificates and school records, claiming additional verification was necessary. Some claimed that they demanded parental ID, family relationship certificates, and school records.
In response, JYP Entertainment issued a statement on the 21st, noting, "We have confirmed the excessive demands and collection of personal information," stating, "The identification process was intended to protect the audience by distinguishing between genuine viewers and those illegally selling tickets through dishonest methods; however, in this case, we failed to demonstrate flexibility in response and management responsibility. We acknowledge our responsibility in this matter and will thoroughly manage to ensure that personal information is not collected unfairly and that invasions of individual privacy do not occur."
