Star of the movie 'Transformers,' Shia LaBeouf, is no longer facing a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend.
On the 22nd (local time), TMZ and People reported that Shia LaBeouf has settled the sexual abuse lawsuit brought by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs.
According to the report, they settled this explosive lawsuit out of court. The attorneys for both sides issued a joint statement, saying, "To seek a constructive path for the future, both parties have decided to settle the case out of court. The terms of the settlement will remain confidential, and we wish each other personal happiness, professional success, and peace."
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Twigs requested the court to dismiss all lawsuits. This means she cannot file a lawsuit again for the same incident. Thus, the lawsuit has been concluded after four years.
Shia LaBeouf and FKA Twigs dated from 2018 to 2019. At that time, Shia LaBeouf was separated from his wife, Mia Goth, and it is reported that he broke up with FKA Twigs in the spring of 2019.
Later, Twigs filed a lawsuit in December 2020 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that LaBeouf had subjected her to continuous sexual, physical, and mental abuse, and intentionally infected her with a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
In an interview with The New York Times, Twigs stated, "The experiences I went through in my relationship with Shia were the worst experiences of my life."
Shia LaBeouf noted, "There is no excuse for my alcoholism or aggression. It's just an excuse. I have been abusive to myself and to those around me for years. I have a past of hurting those closest to me, and I am ashamed of that. I apologize to those I have hurt," while denying all allegations of abuse raised by Twigs.
Shia LaBeouf gained global popularity for his role as Sam Witwicky in the 'Transformers' series and grants roles in 'Disturbia,' 'Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' and others.
