"It's a relief to take a good rest." The 'New Fun 4,' packed with energy, colored the uninhabited island with excitement.
The 57th episode of the MBC variety program 'It's a relief to take a good rest' (directed by Kim Myung-jin, Kim Moon-seob, Shin Hyun-bin, Lee Jun-beom, written by Kwon Jeong-hee, hereafter 'It's a relief'), which aired on the 21st, featured Boom, Young-tak, Mimi, and Park Jun-hyung forming the 'New Fun 4,' bringing great laughter to the viewers with their Avengers-like chemistry. Consequently, the broadcast that day ranked first in both household ratings and 2049 ratings among all variety shows on Monday, showcasing the supremacy of the 'Monday variety powerhouse.' The 'New Fun 4,' which had been lively from the start, was exceptional even in gathering shellfish. Equipped with a microphone and speakers, they ventured to the beach to seize the last opportunity before the octopus fishing ban began. They caught various seafood such as abalone, whelk, rock sea cucumber, and sea cucumber, but unfortunately, the targeted octopus was elusive.
In particular, Mimi, known as 'the daughter of Jeju,' was frustrated as she couldn't catch a single one. At this moment, Boom delivered fun through songs and dances to cheer on the gatherers. Energized by the excitement, Mimi successfully caught her first abalone, proving her lineage as a haenyeo (female diver).
Due to a shortage of ingredients from gathering shellfish, the 'New Fun 4' embarked on additional fishing. On their way out to the farther sea, Young-tak premiered the stage for his new song 'Give,' elevating the mood. The lyrics of 'Give,' perfectly matched with the workers' hopes for the sea to provide fish, fortune, and luck, left a deep impression.
During the fishing expedition, an unprecedented variety of fish poured in. Boom encountered the largest size of the striped mullet he had ever seen, followed by An Jung-hwan, known as 'CEO An,' who saw for the first time a rare species called the black pomfret, as well as expensive red mullets and yellow stingrays, creating a haul. Additionally, the captain prepared striped mullet sashimi, shell-wrapped sashimi, and braised dishes right on board, bringing even greater happiness to the workers.
That day, the main chef of the uninhabited island restaurant was Boom. He decided to make 'sashimi with diced striped mullet.' To this end, Young-tak challenged himself for the first time to prepare sashimi. Although it differed significantly from the skills demonstrated by the captain, he persevered and concentrated until he successfully cut the sashimi into diced shapes.
Before the sashimi was completed, as the guests arrived, they first presented 'grilled cuttlefish on a grill' as the initial menu. The self-cooking concept, where guests had to prepare the food themselves, intrigued everyone at the uninhabited island restaurant. Guests were captivated by the fresh taste of cuttlefish and the fun of grilling it themselves.
Shortly after, the 'diced mullet sashimi' enhanced with Boom's sauce, which elicited a strong response from Mimi who exclaimed, "Delicious!", was served to the guests. The cool seasoning and the chewy striped mullet sashimi filled the guests' mouths, earning their high praise.
The final dish was a remake of the 'Andong jjimdak' from Young-tak's hometown, Andong, transformed into a uninhabited island version called 'seafood boomchujjim.' The 'boomchujjim,' which substituted seafood for chicken, surprised everyone with its appearance and flavor, being rated as tastier than the original Andong jjimdak.
After all the food was served, the workers entertained the guests with a dinner show. Young-tak grabbed the microphone and passionately sang 'Why did you come out there?' and 'It's real,' spreading the excitement to the guests. The scene of the workers, united in enthusiasm with the guests, greatly amused the viewers.
Meanwhile, the preview aired at the end of the broadcast depicted the 'New Fun 4' being surprised by the unexpected appearance of a VVIP guest, stimulating curiosity. MBC 'It's a relief to take a good rest' airs every Monday night at 9 p.m.
