The agency representing KARA member Park Kyu-ri spoke out after Picca Project, led by her ex-boyfriend Song Ja-ho, claimed that Park Kyu-ri received monetary compensation.
On the 22nd, a media outlet reported an interview containing the assertion from Song Hae-jung, a representative of Picca, stating that "after suffering investment losses, Park Kyu-ri was compensated with 60 million won in cash from CEO Song Ja-ho and also made actual revenue through the sale of coins."
In response, OSEN inquired about the relevant stance from Park Kyu-ri's agency, Big Boss Entertainment, which stated, "It's a personal matter, so it's difficult to confirm."
Song Ja-ho is the eldest grandson of former Dongwon Construction Chairman Song Seung-heon and is a third-generation chaebol in Korea. Born in 2000, he is 12 years younger than Park Kyu-ri, born in 1988, and they publicly became a couple in October 2019 amid dating rumors. Later, in July 2021, Song Ja-ho was involved in controversy after being caught driving under the influence, leading to their eventual breakup.
However, in 2023, Song Ja-ho was arrested on charges of violating special laws related to cryptocurrency, which also affected Park Kyu-ri. Even after their breakup, Park Kyu-ri, who worked as a curator and chief publicity officer for Song Ja-ho's company during their relationship, was summoned for questioning regarding the case.
Park Kyu-ri claimed that she had no revenue from coins and appeared as a witness in the trial for the Picca Coin fraud case held at the Seoul Southern District Court on the 16th. She reportedly emphasized once again that she had "no involvement in illegal coin businesses or market manipulation and had no knowledge of virtual assets whatsoever."
However, Picca contradicted Park Kyu-ri's claims in a media interview. Representative Song Hae-jung claimed, "Park Kyu-ri received the full amount of 60 million won in cash back from CEO Song after the delisting, and if you add the expensive gifts she received during their relationship, she received a total worth of 100 million won." He also claimed there was evidence of compensation receipt based on a text message where Park Kyu-ri asked, "When is the deposit possible?" and a reply saying, "Thank you for your consideration."
Picca also refuted Park Kyu-ri's stance that she had "no revenue from coins." Representative Song stated, "According to the conversation between Song Ja-ho and Park Kyu-ri, Park Kyu-ri personally received 26 million won in sale proceeds," adding, "This is clearly different from Park Kyu-ri's claim that she transferred the money immediately after it was deposited."
Regarding this, inquiries were made to Park Kyu-ri's agency, but they cautiously stated, "Confirmation is not possible."
