Lee Kyung-sil reminisced about her difficult past.
The episode of TV CHOSUN's entertainment program 'Boys Over Flowers' that aired on the 21st depicted Lee Kyung-sil's family taking a family photo.
On this day, Lee Kyung-sil headed to Gunsan and said, "I moved completely to Seoul in 1984. When I first came to Seoul and started my college life, I went down to Gunsan after a month, and I thought, 'Gunsan is nice.' That feeling is vivid," revealing her longing for her hometown.
Lee Kyung-sil said, "Until the 6th grade of elementary school, things were okay, but starting from middle school, I felt, 'Why is my family so poor?' I started to get scolded for not being able to pay the tuition. My pride was hurt. Then, in my first year of middle school, I got meningitis and had to be hospitalized. It's like a story from a novel."
She continued, "When I was in the 3rd year of middle school, my father suffered from a stroke. At that time, my mother was running a snack bar at a school in Iksan. My mother worked very hard. She raised me like that and gave me her full support. It was because of my mother that I was able to attend university," expressing special affection and respect for her mother.
After finishing a meal at her mother's house, Lee Kyung-sil personally did her mother's makeup for a longevity photo shoot. Dressed meticulously, the family headed to the photo studio. After taking a family photo in a cheerful atmosphere, Lee Kyung-sil's mother prepared to take her longevity photo alone. Lee Kyung-sil expressed her wish, saying, "I hope she smiles brightly for the photo."
Lee Kyung-sil's daughter said, "Mom helped take photos of grandma. Separation is something everyone cannot avoid, and it's not a sad goodbye, but rather a moment that says, 'We had fun together' and 'Goodbye.' It felt like I would ruin mom's plans if I cried, and I thought grandma would feel bad too," revealing the reason she held back tears.
