'The Return of Superman' (directed by Kim Young-min, hereafter 'Superman is Back') has received national love for 13 years since its first broadcast in 2013. In the second and third weeks of June 2023, following Eun-woo, Jeong-woo from 'Superman is Back' proved to be the youngest, strongest talked-about brother by ranking within the top 10 for two consecutive weeks in the non-drama sector's grants section. Especially on the 11th, at the 14th 'Population Day' ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 'Superman is Back', which showed the dignity of 'national parenting entertainment', received the 'Presidential Commendation' and will broadcast the 583rd episode titled 'Love More Every Day' on the 23rd (Wednesday). On this broadcast, 3MCs Park Soo-hong, Choi Ji-woo, and Ahn Young-mi will be joined by the new Superman Shim Hyung-tak, who certifies his passion as a Superman dad through an unexpected one-meal-a-day.
For the first time, Shim Hyung-tak, who is taking care of his 164-day-old son Ha-ru alone, admits, "I unintentionally find myself on a one-meal-a-day because of taking care of Ha-ru." Ha-ru usually takes only about 20 minutes of daytime naps, making it inconvenient to find time to eat. Consequently, Shim Hyung-tak embarks on an extreme 'Ha-ru sleep' mission to secure his 'one meal a day' mealtime.
Shim Hyung-tak confidently states, "As long as I have a bouncing ball and Im Jae-beom's 'Confession', I can put Ha-ru to sleep," as he gently sits Ha-ru on the bouncing ball. He then begins to sing Im Jae-beom's 'Confession' with his rich, low voice, drawing attention. Shim Hyung-tak mentions, "Ha-ru sleeps well when he hears 'Confession'," and as he continues with his steady bouncing and deep voice, Ha-ru begins to blink and slowly doze off, surprising everyone.
Meanwhile, footage captures Shim Hyung-tak, busily moving around while Ha-ru sleeps. He places two pots of water on the stove and starts to boil spicy ramen in one and black bean noodles in the other. Shim Hyung-tak reveals, "Ramen is a special meal during parenting; I usually settle with cup noodles."
While boiling ramen, Shim Hyung-tak stretches his neck as if he were a meerkat on guard, entering a 24-hour observation mode lest Ha-ru wake up from his nap on the couch. Paying attention to the slightest sounds that might disturb Ha-ru, Shim Hyung-tak carefully observes even the clinking of chopsticks as he clears two bowls of ramen, smiling in great satisfaction. Celebrating the joy of being full, Shim Hyung-tak begins to wash the dishes and ultimately, Ha-ru wakes up from his nap, sending Shim Hyung-tak back into parenting mode and bringing laughter.
