The film 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' anticipated by movie fans worldwide, revealed a new love line for the protagonist Anne Hathaway. Adrien Grenier, who appeared as Andy's boyfriend in the first installment, will not appear in the sequel; instead, actor Patrick Brammall will replace him.
On the 21st (local time), according to foreign media including 'Entertainment Weekly,' 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' will feature original stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci returning, and Brammall has confirmed his role as Andy's new love interest.
In the first installment, Grenier played Andy's college boyfriend 'Nate,' and their relationship became increasingly distant after Andy joined the fashion magazine 'Runway.' Towards the end of the film, Andy quits the magazine to pursue journalism, and Nate starts a new life as a chef in Boston, leading to their breakup.
However, this character faced criticism among fans as the 'real villain.' Grenier himself noted in an interview in 2021, 'I was surprised by the reaction that Nate was a villain.'
This sequel depicts the struggle of Meryl Streep's character Miranda Priestly to maintain power and influence in a rapidly changing media industry. In particular, the character 'Emily,' played by Emily Blunt, now appears as a high-ranking executive with advertising power from a luxury group, set to clash with Priestly, generating excitement.
In addition, Rachel Bloom, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Simone Ashley, and Pauline Chalamet join the cast, boasting a rich lineup.
The film 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' is scheduled for release in North America on May 1, 2026.
