Comedian and singer Jang Du-seok has passed away one year ago.
Jang Du-seok died of kidney disease, which he had suffered from, at 8 a.m. on July 22, 2024. He was 67 years old.
Born in 1957 in Jeju Island, Jang Du-seok debuted in the entertainment industry in 1980 by winning a silver medal at the 2nd TBC comedy contest.
Jang Du-seok, who gained widespread affection as a representative comedian of the 1980s by creating popular segments such as 'Sickermans' and 'Part-time job', also showed his versatility as a multi-talented entertainer by releasing albums and performing as a singer. His song 'Even if I say I love you' continues to be loved.
Jang Du-seok, who was actively involved as a comedian and singer, reportedly left the broadcasting world for a while after the 'Liability Master' segment on KBS2's 'Humor Number 1' in 1992 and went on to run businesses in Apgujeong and Yongsan.
One of Jang Du-seok's catchphrases is 'Excuse me, excuse me' from 'Liability Master'. This phrase gained renewed attention when it was showcased by Hyeri and Kim Sung-kyun in the tvN drama 'Reply 1988', which aired in 2015.
