Singer KCM revealed the reason why he had to hide his two daughters even from his best friend of 23 years, Kim Tae-woo.
On the 21st, Channel A's "Close Friend Documentary: 4-Person Table" featured Park Kyung-rim visiting KCM's home along with his longtime friend Kim Tae-woo and the team.
On this day, Park Kyung-rim, who visited KCM's house, mentioned his two daughters, saying, "Tae-woo, the birth of your child and when you got married were all publicly revealed in advance, but I just recently learned about Mr. KCM. I also just learned about it through the news recently." KCM, who announced his marriage to his wife, who is 9 years younger, in 2022, drew attention earlier this year by revealing that he has two daughters.
In response, Park Kyung-rim asked, "Did your friends know in advance?" and Kim Tae-woo replied, "I had no idea at all." He recounted, "When I looked it up in the articles, I saw that there was an article the day before he called me. I didn't see that article. There are really five close friends amongst us. We have been so close for 23 years. Suddenly, I got a call during the day from him saying, 'Tae-woo, don't be surprised; I actually have a daughter that I've been hiding.' I received the call while walking with my manager, and I stopped. What? At that moment, I thought, does he have another wife? I had that thought. An illegitimate child. So, I thought, he isn't rich enough to do something like that, right?" sharing his surprise.
Later, during a meal, KCM cautiously shared why he couldn't tell Kim Tae-woo about his daughter. He said, "I think I can talk about it now. The reason I couldn't speak was that I was really struggling financially. I wanted to get married quickly, but if I did, my debts would become a burden on my family. That was scary. I wanted to get married to my wife in a clean state and proudly, but it only got worse. "
He continued, "To make matters worse, while I was in the army, my work stopped completely for about 3 to 4 years. During that time, I wanted to solve everything somehow so that even if I did well a little bit, I would be dependent on it, which caused even more bad things to happen." He revealed, "I was a victim of fraud in my name. I really didn't know what joint surety was. But I was put in a position where I had to take full responsibility, and all the arrows came at me, which was really hard for me."
KCM shared, "When I had no money, it was hard to borrow even 10,000 won. I felt that the most during that time. The closer you are to people, the harder it is to tell them. Kim Tae-woo said, "People generally don't think it's financially difficult," and KCM replied, "That's why I'm still holding onto those records. It was a really tough time, but Tae-woo doesn't know. (Kim Tae-woo) may seem strong on the outside, but isn't he weak? If I talk about how hard it was, I thought he would spread the word to help me, which is why I couldn't tell him at that time."
Kim Tae-woo expressed his regret, stating, "I didn't know it was this difficult." KCM commented, "It was resolved like a lie. When it was resolved, I filed a marriage registration, and at that time, my second child was born, and my wife and I cried a lot. Honestly, I wanted to talk about my second child, but since I hadn't talked about my first child, I was scared to discuss my second child. To have the wedding, we thought we needed to talk frankly and comfortably, so I braced myself for a significant reprimand. It's personal, but over 12 to 13 years, in a way, I thought I had been cowardly. I thought it was cowardice."
In response, Park Kyung-rim understood that if there had been no interaction until now, it would have been acceptable, but since they had been seeing each other continuously, the friends could only feel hurt. Then Kim Tae-woo revealed, "The surprising thing is, our first child and KCM's first child were born on the same day. I found that out recently; their birthdays are the same!" Park Kyung-rim responded, "When we meet, I will show you pictures of the kids and share everything about the process," and Kim Tae-woo expressed regret, saying, "I think that's why I regret getting angry; I wonder how tough it must have been."

When asked about his love story with his wife, KCM said, "We met through an introduction. Originally, my wife was working as a model in Japan. She wanted to work in Korea, and it turned out she was my friend's cousin. My friend said, 'A friend is a famous singer in Korea; he knows the Korean companies well, so I'll ask him.' We met together. She was incredibly pretty. I didn't think she'd be interested in me at all. She was really beautiful. Thinking this, I told my friend to let us meet just one more time. We met two or three times and while chatting, my mother-in-law said that she had to marry someone like me after watching me on 'Star Golden Bell.' I heard that and took courage, thinking it was somewhat a sign, so I actively pursued her from that point on."
Curious, Park Kyung-rim asked KCM how his mother-in-law reacted when he went to meet her, and KCM replied, "She liked me. I thought she was joking, but she really did. She said I looked kind. I think that was fate. Even the fact that we endured hardships together during the hardest times felt like fate. I am sorry and grateful," conveying his affectionate feelings.
Park Kyung-rim asked, "The kids are in middle school, and since they are sensitive, aren't they starting puberty?" and KCM replied, "There is puberty. I felt it this time that it's puberty."
