On Aug. 28, 2009, at 8:18 p.m., the children's mother received the shocking news that 'her eldest daughter jumped from the 18th floor of the APT.' The eldest daughter, who had been a quiet and calm model student attending graduate school since childhood, began exhibiting strange behavior, such as breaking objects and assaulting her mother and younger sister, sometime after. What could have happened to the eldest daughter during that time?
The eldest daughter, who began treatment at a mental hospital, finally spoke up about her experiences. She said, 'I was assaulted by the group leader,' revealing that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by officials during her part-time job as a drama extra. There were as many as 12 perpetrators. However, her mother claimed, 'What actually led my eldest daughter to death was something different.' As the eldest daughter's story unfolded, all the cast members were unable to hide their astonishment.
Ahn Hyun-mo lamented, 'How could this happen?' and noted, 'I can't believe that such an incident actually occurred during the investigation,' while Lee Ji-hye said, 'I cannot imagine how much pain the mother must have endured alone all this time,' adding, 'It breaks my heart that even after 21 years since the eldest daughter's death, the bereaved family is still fighting.'
Meanwhile, on that day's broadcast, the mother, who has been appealing about the injustice of losing her daughter through a one-person protest, appeared in person to testify heartfully about the painful situation at the time, and psychiatric specialist Jung Yeon-gyeong analyzed why the eldest daughter could not escape her hellish cycle and suffering.
