The son of Choi Philip reported that he overcame childhood cancer and recovered his health.
On the 22nd, Choi Philip, who appeared on SBS variety show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 – You Are My Destiny', conveyed his relief and gratitude regarding his son's healthy condition.
Choi Philip, who has transformed into a businessman operating a corrugated box manufacturing company and is a father of two children, amazed the audience by stating during the broadcast, "This is my 8th year in business, and last year's sales were nearly 20 billion won."
To him, the most precious things were his children. Choi Philip married a non-celebrity 9 years his junior in 2017 and welcomed his first daughter in 2019 and a second son, Dowoon, in 2023. However, Dowoon was diagnosed with childhood cancer (liver cancer) at just 4 months old and had to endure a painful battle, undergoing a total of six rounds of chemotherapy and liver resection.
Now, having received a determination of treatment completion, Dowoon, who has turned four years old, has regained his bright smile. Choi Philip noted that he "receives blood tests and ultrasound tests every three months," and recently shared a tense moment on his social media. He said, "For the first time, the tumor marker slightly exceeded the normal range, and I spent two weeks anxiously. I acutely felt how precious this moment is, worried he might get sick again."
However, after prayer and waiting, the test results came back normal. Choi Philip said, "I checked with a trembling heart after finishing all the schedules and praying... Thankfully, the results were normal," sharing the news. It was a welcome relief for the family who battled alongside him and for those who supported them.
