The global syndrome 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' girl group HuntRix and boy group SajaBoys will face off at a domestic awards ceremony.
On the 22nd, the organizing committee for the '2025 K World Dream Awards' (abbreviated as KWDA) announced that HuntRix's 'Golden' and SajaBoys' 'Soda Pop' from the Netflix movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (abbreviated as 'KeDeHun') are nominated for the best OST institutional sector.
'Golden' and 'Soda Pop' are songs performed by the virtual girl group HuntRix and the virtual boy group SajaBoys. As 'KeDeHun' has caused a global syndrome, both 'Golden' and 'Soda Pop' are making waves not only on major domestic music charts but also on the main chart of the U.S. Billboard.
In particular, 'Golden' reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart. This is a figure that surpasses the previous record of No. 5 set by the Disney animated film 'Frozen' OST 'Let It Go.' Furthermore, the OST album featuring 'Golden' and 'Soda Pop' also ranked No. 5 on the same week's main album chart 'Billboard 200.'
Moreover, within 'KeDeHun,' HuntRix and SajaBoys also have a history of fierce competition for the grand prize at the in-film awards ceremony 'World Idol Awards,' so the attention on this award showdown in the real world is also high.
In the 'K World Dream Best OST' institutional sector, nominees include not only 'Golden' and 'Soda Pop' but also the OST 'If That Day Comes' by TOMORROW X TOGETHER and 'Eternal' by EXO member Doh Kyung Soo, from the tvN drama 'Resident Playbook,' which concluded in May amid much buzz.
All of these songs have ranked high in the OST segment of major domestic music charts. Among them, 'If That Day Comes' provided a unique pleasure to drama fans as it is a hit song by Um Jae Il (Kang Yoo Seok), who acted as a member of the past idol group HI-BOYZ in 'Resident Playbook.' After the drama concluded, a special stage video featuring TOMORROW X TOGETHER members Soobin and Yeonjun with Kang Yoo Seok on Mnet's 'M Countdown' is still receiving significant attention.
The '2025 K World Dream Awards,' where HuntRix and SajaBoys will compete in reality, will be held on Aug. 21 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa District, Seoul.
