The sincerity of 'Mr. Ssu' reached the environmental awards.
On the 22nd, MBC announced that 'Men Who Clean the Earth' (abbreviated as 'Gidangnam') has won the public environmental content award at the 20th 2025 Korea Environmental Awards.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and organized by the Korea Environmental Awards Committee, Future is in Our Hands, and Environmental Media, the Korea Environmental Awards are presented to corporations and local governments that contribute to a future-oriented eco-friendly society and sustainable environmental development. 'Men Who Clean the Earth' was uniquely selected in the public environmental content sector, recognizing the program's value.
Last October, 'Men Who Clean the Earth,' which aired every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. for a total of six episodes, was selected as a supported project by the Korea Communications Agency (KCA) for 2024. Under the concept of 'an ESG-oriented environmental journey with or without resources,' five men embarked on a special journey from the city to the remote areas of Mongolia, delivering the message that sufficient happiness can be found with minimal consumption, gaining a positive response from viewers.
Moreover, the program's composition, which dealt with typically heavy topics such as waste and consumption in a light-hearted manner, resonated widely with audiences from the MZ generation to those in their 40s and 60s. The message 'the environment is everyone's story' was also effectively communicated to viewers.
