'Eun-soo's Good Day' has fully revealed a script reading scene that is impossible to take your eyes off.
Scheduled to premiere in September, the new KBS 2TV weekend mini-series 'Eun-soo's Good Day' (directed by Song Hyun-wook, written by Jeon Young-shin) portrays the perilous and desperate partnership of a parent who wants to protect her family, Kang Eun-soo, and a two-faced teacher, Lee Kyung, who accidentally acquires a bag of drugs.
In the script reading scene, all cast members attended, including director Song Hyun-wook and writer Jeon Young-shin, along with Lee Young-ae (as Kang Eun-soo), Kim Young-kwang (as Lee Kyung), Park Yong-woo (as Jang Tae-goo), and Bae Su-bin (as Park Do-jin), Jo Yeon-hee (as Yang Mi-yeon), Hwang Jae-yeol (as Detective Park), Do Sang-woo (as Kang Hwi-rim), Won Hyun-joon (as Do Kyoo-man), Oh Yeon-ah (as Baek Yeo-joo), Kim Dong-won (as Lee Hyuk), Lee Kyu-sung (as Hwang Dong-hyun), Kim Si-ah (as Park Su-ah), Kwon Ji-woo (as Choi Kyung-do), and Son Bo-seung (as Hwang Jun-hyun), promising fantastic synergy.
Before the reading, the 'Heart Relay,' initiated by Lee Young-ae's greeting, warmed up the scene. Lee Young-ae's heart pose was joined by all the cast members, including Kim Young-kwang and Park Yong-woo, creating a friendly atmosphere.
As the official script reading began, the actors overwhelmed the scene with their concentration and immersion, not letting a single line of dialogue slide. Lee Young-ae, who plays Kang Eun-soo, who proposes a partnership to her daughter's art teacher to protect her family, delicately expressed complex emotions oscillating between desperation and danger, firmly establishing the scene's weight.
Kim Young-kwang, playing Lee Kyung, the popular after-school art instructor adored by middle school girls during the day and secretly operates as a club MD at night, injected extreme tension with his intense performance that oscillated between warmth and coldness. Park Yong-woo, portraying veteran detective Jang Tae-goo, who tracks down the drug trafficking organization, showcased sharp and charismatic acting infused with flaws and pain.
Additionally, Bae Su-bin, Jo Yeon-hee, and Hwang Jae-yeol, along with Do Sang-woo, Won Hyun-joon, Oh Yeon-ah, Kim Dong-won, Lee Kyu-sung, Kim Si-ah, Kwon Ji-woo, and Son Bo-seung, elevated the work's completeness with performances perfectly immersed in their respective characters. The combination of powerful dialogues, a tightly woven narrative, and intricately intertwined character psychology heightened the anticipation for the broadcast to its peak.
After completing the script reading, the actors conveyed their affection for their characters and their unique determination toward the work. First, Lee Young-ae said, "I hope 'Eun-soo's Good Day' becomes a turning point that can also bring a new awakening to KBS dramas and to me as an actor," while Kim Young-kwang expressed his excitement by stating, "Every character lives with their own desires. It is an honor to work with senior Lee Young-ae and senior Park Yong-woo," revealing his anticipation for the project. Finally, Park Yong-woo stated, "I am happy that the drama I was looking forward to has become a reality. I am confident that viewers will also feel the tension and fun in this story, which is filled with twists and turns."
'Eun-soo's Good Day' was completed through a collaboration between director Song Hyun-wook, recognized as a craftsman of details while tackling various genres, and writer Jeon Young-shin, who has delicately portrayed human dilemmas and fractures. Starring the three leads, Lee Young-ae, Kim Young-kwang, and Park Yong-woo, along with seasoned actors, it foreshadows the birth of a masterpiece.
'Eun-soo's Good Day,' the second weekend mini-series from KBS 2TV, will make its first broadcast on Saturday, September 20, at 9:20 p.m.
