Popular creator Woojeong-ing met the members who will debut together as idols.
On the 18th at 6 p.m., the third episode of the music web entertainment program 'Today's Debut Team' was released through the YouTube channel Studio Welcome.
'Today's Debut Team' is a program planned in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to mark the 80th anniversary of liberation. The members led by creator Woojeong-ing aim to go through the actual debut preparation process and ultimately perform on a stage commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation, which is scheduled for August.
Finally, Woojeong-ing, who had been anxiously waiting alone, met the members through this episode. They are dancer Amy, rapper Mirani, and Hyunjin, a member from LOONA. The third episode features members engaged in various fields, including YouTube, dance, hip-hop, and K-pop, showcasing the unique charms of each member.
Amy, who became well-known for appearing on 'Street Woman Fighter 2', is responsible for choreography and performances for many K-pop artists like TWICE and ITZY. Mirani gained popularity by reaching the TOP8 in 'Show Me the Money 9' and is loved for hit songs such as 'VVS', 'Achoo', and 'Daisy', consistently engaging in performances and album activities. Hyunjin, from LOONA and LUSSEMBLE, is currently continuing her activities by establishing her own label TRIANGLE Enm.
The four who met for the first time introduced themselves and immediately began to establish a hierarchy. Hyunjin, an idol with experience who debuted in 2016 with LOONA, stated, "What matters for an idol is not age, but the year of debut," proudly claiming to be the youngest member of 'Today's Debut Team' while exhibiting seniority.
Next, Mirani noted that in the hip-hop scene, it's more important to release respected albums than the year of debut. Woojeong-ing candidly revealed the harsh reality of how hierarchy among creators is divided based on viewer count. Finally, Amy described the dancer community, saying, "In the dance world, if you dance and love it, everyone is a dancer."
Differences also emerged in how they held the microphone. Hyunjin and Mirani demonstrated the difference in how idols and rappers hold the microphone. Mirani elaborated, "Rappers hold the mic and drop it lower," while Woojeong-ing added a witty comment, saying, "YouTubers react with the mic fixed above their heads." Likewise, Amy mentioned that she uses the mic to convey things like, "You need to spread it a little more."
As the members got to know each other, the atmosphere became increasingly warm. Hyunjin shared real experiences that only idols would know, such as airport fashion, makeup methods, and dormitory rules, while Amy opened up about the struggles of dancers who shorten their late-night practices, referring to them as 'saeyeon' or practicing without sleep. Mirani entertained everyone with various stories about how actual rappers make requests for featuring.
The conversation also turned to the positions each member wanted to take. Mirani expressed her desire for the position of 'ending fairy', which is something an idol would want to try at least once. In response, the members took turns showcasing the 'ending fairy' pose, and Mirani's tearful challenge to secure the position, surpassing the creators, idols, and dancers, brought smiles.
Despite coming from different fields, the eagerness of Woojeong-ing, Amy, Mirani, and Hyunjin to form a single team is generating anticipation for what charm they will reveal. Their attempts to debut as idols through 'Today's Debut Team' are released every Friday at 6 p.m. on the YouTube channel Studio Welcome.
