Singer Lim Young-woong donated 200 million won to support those affected by the heavy rainfall.
The Korea Charity Foundation (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) announced that singer Lim Young-woong donated a total of 200 million won on behalf of his fan club 'Hero Era' on the 20th to help those affected by the heavy rain and the local community.
This donation, consisting of 100 million won from Lim Young-woong and 100 million won from his agency Fish Music, will be used for emergency relief, temporary housing, living support, and recovery efforts for those affected by the heavy rain that occurred in various regions across the country.
Lim Young-woong noted, "I feel heavy-hearted thinking about those whose daily lives are threatened and who are enduring each day in anxiety due to the sudden heavy rain," and added, "Although it is a small gesture, I hope it brings comfort, and I sincerely support a swift recovery to everyday life."
Lim Young-woong also contributed to the Korea Charity Foundation in March this year to aid in recovery from forest fire damage under the name of his fan club 'Hero Era.' At that time, he participated alongside his agency Fish Music to help the victims and recovery efforts in the affected areas.
Since 2021, he has consistently practiced sharing through the Korea Charity Foundation, and the total donation amount, including this donation, has reached 2.3 billion won. In particular, he has continued sharing in a wide range of areas, from disaster and calamity support to addressing welfare blind spots, such as support for large forest fire damages in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon, emergency support for flood disaster victims, and living expenses for vulnerable groups during winter.
The fan club 'Hero Era' is also continuing regular donations by joining the Korea Charity Foundation 'Sharing Leaders Club' and actively engaging in various activities, such as volunteer work, sharing briquettes, and providing daily necessities, practicing their positive influence. This kind of donation activity by Lim Young-woong and his fans is being recognized as a good example of a donation culture created together by artists and their fandom.
Meanwhile, the Korea Charity Foundation is conducting a special fundraising campaign for support against the heavy rain damage until August 17. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, as of 6 p.m. on the 20th, there have been reports of 28 casualties (17 deceased, 11 missing) due to the heavy rainfall, and over 13,000 people from about 9,700 households have been evacuated, among which over 2,700 have yet to return home.
