Mnet's 'Boys Planet 2' contestant Kim Gun-woo recently apologized regarding the controversy over his character.
Wake One revealed Kim Gun-woo's handwritten apology on their official SNS on the 21st.
Earlier, a lengthy exposé about Kim Gun-woo's past actions and character was posted on online communities, sparking controversy.
In response, Kim Gun-woo stated, "I am sorry for writing this due to an unpleasant matter," adding, "It's my first time experiencing something like this, and I need time to think about how to respond, so I ask for your understanding for the delay in my response."
He said, "I want to sincerely apologize and express my regret for any words and actions that have hurt and troubled many people, regardless of the reasons," adding, "At that time, as a leader who had to lead the team, I went through difficult times, and I was clumsy and inexperienced in guiding my fellow trainees due to the sense of responsibility and burden to do well."
He continued, "In that process, I ended up hurting many people, and I sincerely apologize for that and reflect on it," stating, "While there are many distorted parts of the content that are not true, after careful consideration, I concluded that it is right to apologize sincerely for the wrongdoings rather than clarify what is true and what is not, so I am posting this letter of reflection."
Finally, he said, "I would like to once again express my apologies to the public who have to hear bad news and articles because of me. I will take this incident as a lesson and strive to become a better and more mature person."
Meanwhile, Wake One stated that on this day, Kim Gun-woo and Kang Woo-jin, who are participating in 'Boys Planet 2' as individuals, are trainees under Wake One, and said, "After a long period of in-depth discussions for a responsible choice, we decided to terminate the trainee contract with Kim Gun-woo and Kang Woo-jin through an agreement. The two participants will continue to appear as individuals, just as they did during the initial program application."
