The group TWS is set to introduce a popular song that swept China in the first half of this year in Korean.
According to its agency, Pledis Entertainment, TWS (Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Gi Hoon, Kyung Min) will release the audio for 'Kiss Kiss Shy Shy (Korean Ver.)' globally tomorrow (22nd) at 11 a.m.
The original song 'Kiss Kiss Shy Shy' is one of the most utilized representative hit songs on Douyin (抖音), the most influential short-form video platform in China, in the first half of 2025. The challenge for this song, characterized by playful hand kisses and shy gestures, has garnered explosive popularity, with many K-pop artists, including TWS, participating in the challenge.
Douyin paid attention to the challenge video of TWS, which received a warm response from local fans, and suggested a Korean version performance to TWS, leading to the surprise audio release. The six members uploaded a challenge video for 'Kiss Kiss Shy Shy (Korean Ver.)' the day before (20th), revealing parts of the new song. The members' soft voices blended with the sweet lyrics, raising anticipation for the complete song.
'Kiss Kiss Shy Shy (Korean Ver.)' charmingly depicts moments reminiscent of first love. TWS plans to deliver a refreshing excitement with a bright tone while conveying clumsy yet sincere nervousness. Given the significant buzz around the Chinese original, it is expected that the Korean version will also attract high interest from both domestic and local fans.
TWS is enjoying tremendous popularity as they navigate the Asian music markets, including Korea and Japan. Their Japanese debut single 'Nice to See You Again' (original title はじめまして/하지메마시테), released on the 2nd, dominated the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking and the Weekly Combined Single Ranking (for the week of July 14). The title track of their previously released domestic mini-album, 'Isn't It Cool to Follow My Heart?', has also swept first-place trophies on all music shows, showcasing a simultaneous surge in success.
Meanwhile, TWS will continue their tour '2025 TWS TOURS '24/7:WITH:US' in Japan at the Sendai Sun Plaza Hall in Miyagi Prefecture on the 25th and 26th.
