Director Matt Shakman shared the chemistry of the 'Fantastic Four' actors.

'Fantastic Four: A New Beginning' is a Marvel summer action blockbuster depicting the massive events as four astronauts who acquire unexpected powers to become superheroes, the 'Fantastic Four,' step forward to protect the world from the destructive villain 'Galactus' who engulfs planets, preparing for its nationwide release in theaters on July 24.
Director Matt Shakman, who received acclaim for the well-made Disney+ 'WandaVision,' has teamed up once again with screenwriter Peter Cameron, and the inclusion of Hollywood stars such as Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach has garnered interest.
Regarding the casting of Pedro and Vanessa, who lead the narrative, director Matt Shakman noted, "First and foremost, they are fantastic actors. Their range is broad."
The director continued, "Reed is an extremely complex character. As a genius scientist, he is someone trying to solve the world's problems, while also showing a human side as a member of a family. Yet, when the earth and his family are threatened, he has the responsibility to protect everything. In a sense, he must embody both genius and humanity, which made me ponder over which actor would be suitable."
He added, "Then I thought of Pedro. I have known him personally since his early twenties, and because of that, I trust him and believe he is the right fit for the role."
He also recalled, "I met Vanessa for the first time, but I've always wanted to work with her. She has a broad acting range, from drama to comedy. She also needs to perform action and is an actress who can move well. Because she is smart and dedicated, her range is as wide as Pedro's."
He remarked, "When these two outstanding actors meet on set, their chemistry is bound to be great. When I saw them together for the first time, I instinctively anticipated wonderful chemistry. In fact, they are the first couple to appear in Marvel's first family movie, and I thought the actors needed to be well aware of the history these two couples share. Since the film tells a story set about four years after the Fantastic Four became a team, they needed to understand the various ups and downs they experienced together during those four years. I thought these actors were the most ideal choice."
