In the extreme realism documentary-variety show 'Lovesick in Joseon' on TV CHOSUN, a 97-year-old grandmother reminisces about the childhood of Son Bo-seung, the son of Lee Kyung-sil, delivering a sharp remark.
In the episode airing on Monday, 21st at 10 p.m., a family meal where four generations, from Lee Kyung-sil's mother to Son Bo-seung's son, gather will be revealed. During this gathering, Lee Kyung-sil recalled, "Bo-seung has been great at eating garlic sliced radish since he was 3 years old." Son Bo-seung remarked, "He must not have been 3 years old," but the 97-year-old grandmother asserted, "He was 3 years old."
Lee Kyung-sil also reflected, "Mom never followed you all around to feed you." In response, the grandmother retorted, "Did you ever feed them? When? I fed them all myself," drawing laughter with her sharp comment. To this, Lee Kyung-sil responded, "We fed together!" Son Bo-seung then asked, "Grandma, does that mean you raised me right after I was born?" The grandmother replied, "Of course, you all slept with me from the evening of the day you were born. You did not sleep at night until you were 100 days old; you only slept during the day," vividly recalling the memories.
In response, Son Bo-seung, who has 'parenting experience', raised an objection, saying, "Grandma, babies don't sleep at night until 100 days old!" However, the 'expert' grandmother shot back, "What are you talking about? That's why I got thyroid problems, unable to sleep… and high blood pressure!" Son Bo-seung complained, "Then what were they doing while not sleeping in the early morning?" To which the grandmother explained, "Crying, just asking for milk! Peed themselves and all..." providing a realistic answer.
Meanwhile, Lee Kyung-sil asked her mother, "Even though it's in the past, how did you feel when Bo-seung said he was going to be a father?" The grandmother candidly replied, "I felt bad... he was just a kid..." provoking laughter.
Listening to this, Son Bo-seung recounted, "I suddenly got a call from Grandma… 'Bo-seung, now that Mom is working again and Grandma can finally manage, are you going to make this difficult? Now Mom is getting back to work…'" recounting the 'bittersweet' phone call he received when he was estranged from Lee Kyung-sil.
