"Tears were a luxury, I only focused on my child"
In 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2', actor Choi Philip revealed that his son was diagnosed with liver cancer at 4 months old and went through treatment.
On the 21st, actor Choi Philip appeared in the SBS entertainment show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 - You are My Destiny'.
Choi Philip married a non-celebrity 9 years younger than him in 2017 and welcomed his first daughter in 2019, and a son in February 2023. However, his second son was diagnosed with liver cancer right after birth and began chemotherapy at 4 months old, undergoing a total of 6 rounds of chemotherapy and a liver resection.
He reminisced, "Of all times, it was during the COVID-19 period, so I couldn't even switch caregivers; I took full responsibility for nursing. There were days when I had to hold the baby for 24 hours because he kept crying."
Both sets of parents were in tears together, and he also said, "Crying was a luxury. I was solely focused on saving my child."
Recently, during a blood test conducted every three months, the tumor markers for the first time exceeded normal limits, causing both parents to worry for two weeks, but fortunately it was confirmed to be back to normal levels on social media.
"Every day was excruciating. I was simply grateful for every action of my child," shared Choi Philip, adding, "Today, the test results came back normal. I thank everyone who prayed for us."
