Singer KCM revealed an episode where he was beaten by Kim Tae-woo and went to the hospital.
On the 21st, Channel A's 'Close Friends Documentary: Four-Person Table' featured Park Kyung-rim visiting KCM's home along with his 23-year-long close friend Kim Tae-woo and the team.
That day, Park Kyung-rim was curious about Kim Tae-woo and KCM, asking, "How did you first recognize each other? Did you connect musically?" In response, KCM opened up, saying, "Actually, I wanted to get close to Tae-woo. Since before my debut. We shared the same practice room. When g.o.d was coming, I wanted to see them too. While sitting there, my music was playing at that time. Tae-woo came in and, seeing my song playing, said, 'Who are these guys? They have a good voice!' That one comment became a debt in my heart. While I was being criticized every day, the main vocalist of g.o.d, Kim Tae-woo, told me my voice was good. He said I did well. I was really thankful for that back then, but it also became a burden. I thought that if I became a successful singer later through hard work, I would want to repay that debt."
He continued, "Lee Hyun-seung said he was close to Tae-woo and asked to introduce us. After my debut, KCM said it would suit me well because 'Black and White Photo' was doing well, so we met for the first time. I felt grateful, but that day, he said to me, 'This is the day I achieved my first goal. The day I fulfilled my bucket list,' and I found his confident demeanor a bit annoying," adding, "I thought it was a mistake to meet him that day. I was scolded so much."
Kim Tae-woo reflected, "I don't know, but when I look back, I was scolded a lot by brother (Park) Jinyoung, so I think I let it out outside," and KCM said, "As time went by and I did better than I expected, he said we became friends." Kim Tae-woo added, "While doing OSTs, I started rising up and that's when we began contacting each other," jokingly.
Then KCM revealed, "I still remember. When my album was about to come out, I wanted to play the music for my friends. We gathered to listen, and I got scolded by Tae-woo for 3 hours." Kim Tae-woo said, "It's because I want you to do better. Why do you always only do songs in similar genres?" The team then responded, "You said something similar to me," showing an understanding attitude by saying, "I know it came from a good place."
Kim Tae-woo mentioned, "I really reflected and regretted after going to the army, listening to 'The Road,'" but when KCM brought up military stories, he said, "I went to the hospital because of him. During leave, he suddenly drank and came back saying he learned special forces martial arts, then started saying I needed to look into his eyes in my military uniform. I had my back turned and he kicked my butt with his boot. If I said it hurt, wouldn't it be embarrassing as a friend? I pretended it was fine, but the next day, I couldn't sit down. I almost chased him to the army."
Then Kim Tae-woo said, "When I returned to the unit, I got a call asking, 'Is it real?' I said it was real; I got hurt badly. I felt really sorry. I said it was because I was drunk. I felt very apologetic. But after hanging up and going in, I secretly thought, 'So the special forces martial arts works, huh? I could catch spies with this!'" jokingly.
KCM said, "I couldn't say anything because he paid for everything," and added, "At that time, I had no money, and I was working part-time at a department store when I met Tae-woo. Even when 'Black and White Photo' came out, I was carrying boxes in the early morning. I had no money, but since Tae-woo was making a lot of money as g.o.d, he supported us all. He always bought us delicious food, so anyone could see that Kim Tae-woo was going the wrong way. I thought, 'If I say this isn't right, will he ignore me?' so I said, 'It's really good' instead," causing laughter.
Park Kyung-rim asked, "No matter how extravagantly you spend?" KCM replied, "Yes. I still feel a sense of remorse about that. I'm very thankful," and Kim Tae-woo remarked, "One day, I opened my eyes and found myself in a pit. I thought, 'Wow, these guys!" making everyone laugh.
