The Defects finally meets the viewers with its first broadcast.
The new ENA drama 'The Defects', which will premiere at 10 p.m. today, the 21st (Monday), is a gripping action thriller directed by Oh Ki-hwan and written by Ahn So-jung. It tells the story of children who barely survive on the brink of death after being abandoned by their adoptive parents.
'The Defects' anticipates a groundbreaking setting that revolves around an illegal adoption cartel that buys and sells children abandoned by their parents, expecting to stir a fresh wave in the home theater.
The stills released ahead of the first broadcast raise tension by hinting a new tragedy will begin among the children. Kim Ah-hyun (Won Jina), who was refunded but dramatically survived and is living in hiding, along with Joo-an (Ahn Ji-ho), So-mi (Lee Na-eun), Seok-soo (Oh Seung-joon), and finally the refunded child Choi Si-woo (Kang Ji-yong). The vivid portrayal of children living with their respective scars is captured.
As the children's daily lives, which seem precarious and gloomy for some reason, evoke sympathy, curiosity grows about why they are hiding in an abandoned building instead of a typical home or school.
In particular, leader Ah-hyun grabs attention as she appears to be deep in thought with her cellphone in front of her. In a situation where contact with the outside world has been cut off, her anxious gaze as if waiting for something hints at unpredictable incidents that will happen from the very first episode. The tension escalates with the shocked expression of Ah-hyun at Si-woo's sudden action, while Joo-an, So-mi, and Seok-soo watch the situation with stern expressions, alongside Si-woo's tearful face. With the arrival of Si-woo, who brought a crisis as he joined the group of children, attention is focused on how their fates will change.
'The Defects' is exclusively available on OTT on TVING.
