Ricki Lake, 56, an icon of American talk shows, marked the first anniversary of her facelift surgery by unveiling stunning before-and-after photos and attracting attention with her candid self-disclosure.
Ricki Lake disclosed on the 18th (local time) through her Instagram, "A year ago today, I made a big decision," saying, "I underwent deep plane facelift surgery, lower face and neck lifting, and mild CO2 laser treatment." The accompanying photos captured her noticeably changed jawline and slimmer face shape before and after the surgery, grabbing attention.
Although she underwent the surgery last July, she publicly revealed it only through her appearance on a show last month. "I have no reason to hide it. There is no shame in it," Ricki noted, indicating her desire to be completely transparent. She later shared the process before and after the surgery, including photos of the swelling and bruising immediately after the procedure and moments captured with her husband during her recovery.
The background for her decision to undergo surgery was weight loss. She had once weighed 260 pounds (about 118 kg) and managed to reduce it to 130 pounds (about 59 kg), but the sagging skin under her chin had caused her stress. She revealed, "I knew that area would never naturally regain its elasticity," explaining the reason for her decision to undergo the procedure.
Her transformation did not stop at mere surgery. While the Ozempic craze swept through Hollywood, she also combined intermittent fasting, a ketogenic diet, Pilates, and hiking with a 2-mile weighted vest to lose weight. She even wore a blood sugar monitoring device and an Oura Ring, focusing on overall health management, including sleep and stress.
Her husband, Ross Burningham, also stood out with his support. Sharing a photo of herself lying in bed with bandages post-surgery, she mentioned, "He was quite nervous but supported me until the end," revealing their affection as they celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
Finally, she emphasized, "It's not that I couldn't love myself, but this surgery was like the icing on the cake of my life. I am proud of my choice. I have always been an honest person, and I will continue to be that way."
