Actor Park Young-kyu from 'Salimmnam2' was shocked to hear his health check results after 73 years and was unable to regain his composure for a while.
On the 19th, the KBS2TV entertainment show 'Salimmnam2' featured Park Seo-jin enjoying a tough countryside vacation with his favorite character, Ralral Lee Myung-hwa, while Park Young-kyu underwent a health checkup with his 25-year-younger wife.
Park Seo-jin, who followed Park Hyo-jung without knowing anything, mumbled, 'The weather was nice until then, and I'm starting to get hungry.' Park Hyo-jung said, 'There's food everywhere around. It wouldn't be good to buy it,' surprising Park Seo-jin.
The arrival of Ralral Lee Myung-hwa soon lifted Park Seo-jin's spirits. Baek Ji-young noted, 'Park Seo-jin really likes the Lee Myung-hwa character.' Park Seo-jin had a clear preference for Kim Shin-young as his ideal type and his favorite was Ji Sang-ryeol, but Ralral was a YouTuber he enjoyed watching. Park Seo-jin explained, 'I even have Lee Myung-hwa merchandise. Keychains, posters, 100% bought with my own money.'
Park Seo-jin said, 'I really like Lee Myung-hwa's straightforward personality. I love it when she says, if you haven't lost weight, it's because you eat too much.' However, he soon found himself suffering from tremendous labor, such as cleaning cow poop, chicken coop duties, and rabbit cage cleaning. Park Seo-jin expressed anger, saying, 'I wanted to bury Park Hyo-jung the moment I saw the mound of poop, calling it healing after bringing me here,' but he got caught up in the work and later had a good time singing a new song with Ralral Lee Myung-hwa.
Park Young-kyu decided to undergo a health checkup, including a colonoscopy, after persistent persuasion from the production team. Park Young-kyu remarked, 'It's my first time getting a colonoscopy. It was hard because I was experiencing it for the first time in 73 years.' Due to the nature of the exam, he needed to manage his diet 3 to 7 days prior, and particularly two days before, he had to clear his stomach, making it a difficult test. Also, since colorectal and stomach cancers have high incidence rates in Korea, it was understandable for him to feel fearful.
His wife shared her concerns, saying, 'I can't help but worry about my husband. Given his age, I wonder if any diseases or conditions could be discovered that are beyond his control.' Park Young-kyu responded, 'What if I encounter a hidden trouble during a health checkup? While I think of myself, I can't help but imagine how tough it would be for my wife to realize the difficulties.'
Park Young-kyu said, 'There's a safe over there. Aren't you curious about what's inside?' and added, 'The number and various documents are all in there,' behaving as if he was someone who takes precautions, revealing details about the safe known only to him.
The test results were shocking. They had removed a polyp that was as large as 6mm. The doctor remarked, 'Mr. Park Young-kyu, you mentioned this is your first checkup in 10 years? Luckily, it seems to have been a good decision. There are some issues, though.' He continued, 'It's good that you had the colonoscopy. There was a polyp of about 6mm. Based on the endoscopic findings, it looks like a precancerous stage. If left for another 2 to 3 years, it would have worsened. It's right before cancer,' mentioning that further examination was necessary.
