Kwak Sun-hee, a participant of 'Steel Troops W', shared honest stories while conducting her first live broadcast with her partner after coming out.
On the 18th, Kwak Sun-hee held a live broadcast with her girlfriend via her personal social media. During the broadcast, Kwak Sun-hee's partner appeared wearing a mask and explained, "I'm an ordinary person, so I'm burdened by appearing a lot in the news. I have a private life, so I have no choice but to cover my face." In response, Kwak Sun-hee also emphasized, "We have previously posted a message on our feed asking for understanding. My partner is an ordinary person who works at a company, so I hope her face is always covered when articles are written about her."
Kwak Sun-hee added, "I'm okay with my face being revealed, but I hope you will consider my girlfriend's privacy," expressing her desire to protect her partner.
The live broadcast also revealed the story of how the two first met. Kwak Sun-hee said, "Many people asked about our ages. While I know many who think I am older, in fact, my girlfriend is my older sister." She introduced, "I was born in 1997 and my girlfriend was born in 1996, so there is a one-year age difference."
Recalling their first meeting, the girlfriend said, "Around December 2024, I went to a taco place near my workplace and was surprised to see Sun-hee there. She looked upset and seemed aloof, but later, I saw that she was so tall she looked like she could touch the ceiling," and smiled. On the other hand, Kwak Sun-hee recalled, "I remember seeing my sister for the first time at a bakery around March or April this year. She was wearing a mask, so I thought she wouldn't recognize me, but she glanced over and smiled. I remembered her beautiful smile vividly."
Kwak Sun-hee then returned to that bakery, and he said they coincidentally reunited. He remarked, "Her back looked so cool that I felt excited. So, I asked for her direct message, but she didn't give it to me. Since then, my life felt like it changed from a black-and-white movie to a color movie, and the world appeared brighter. I realized this is what excitement feels like."
His girlfriend shared, "Sun-hee always took good care of me and wrote many letters. She was very considerate," explaining how she opened her heart. She continued, "I asked Sun-hee, 'Is it okay for me to be a woman?' and she took my hand, saying, 'I don't care.' That courage was admirable." To this, Kwak Sun-hee added, "If it's someone I like, what's important? I just acted according to what my heart wanted."
Meanwhile, Kwak Sun-hee became known for appearing as the Head of Team of the Army team on Channel A's entertainment program 'Steel Troops W' last year. Currently, while balancing exercise and freelance modeling activities, she has come out as having a girlfriend and is continuing public dating.
