Actor Lim Chae-moo expressed his difficult feelings at the time of the death of his ex-wife.
On the broadcast of KBS2's 'The Boss's Ears are Donkey Ears' aired on the 20th, Park Myung-soo, Yewon, and announcer Kim Jin-woong visited Doolyland.
On this day's broadcast, Lim Chae-moo's wife, 9 years younger, Ms. Kim So-yeon, also made a surprise appearance, drawing attention. The couple met through a mutual acquaintance in 2016 and got married. Lim Chae-moo shared his reasons for deciding to remarry, saying, "I have a lot of gray hair. When I dye it, my friends say, 'The back isn't dyed.' I thought I should dye the back as well, but the dye was all gone. I realized I couldn't do it alone, so I decided to remarry."
In response, Lee Yong-sik noted, "My sister-in-law passed away due to illness. Seeing him become alone and resorting to alcohol as a friend was truly pitiful. We all hoped that someone would appear, so we thought it would be nice if someone could watch over him during that time," revealing Lim Chae-moo's difficult circumstances after his wife's death.
When asked what about his wife attracted him, Lim Chae-moo responded, "She's pretty," adding, "When I saw her, I thought, 'Okay, let's go.' After this ended, it was late—9 or 10 p.m. It was our first meeting, and I suggested we at least eat something. But when I looked around for food, there was none. I found a kimbap place. I thought we could at least eat that, so we shared a roll of kimbap on our first meeting and said, 'Let's get along well,' and then just started living together quickly."
Announcer Eom Ji-in was surprised, asking, "Is that all?" Kim Sook also expressed amazement, saying, "You lived like that?" Park Myung-soo remarked, "Can't you buy her flowers?" but Lim Chae-moo honestly replied, "I have never bought her flowers in all this time. It's not that I didn't want to; I just don't like pretentiousness," which drew surprise.
At this moment, Ms. Kim So-yeon appeared, and when asked, "Do you feel any displeasure towards Lim Chae-moo?" she immediately replied, "I don't feel displeased at all." Furthermore, he shared that during tough times managing the amusement park, when he had to sell his APT. in Yeouido and lived homeless in a restroom, he felt, "After living in Seoul, I came to Yangju, where the weather is nice, and I saw the cosmos along the railway, which looked so beautiful. After going through tough times, now that I have built things up like this, I thought I might get to meet Park Myung-soo too," showing his positive outlook.
Ms. Kim So-yeon, who said she didn't realize how much debt he had, asked, "Did you propose?" to which he replied, "I didn't give her anything." Despite this, when asked why they still live together, she explained, "When I drank, I would think about wanting to fall from the 23rd floor and die. That was how much it hurt after becoming alone."
However, her revelation that "I asked for just one flower, but he hasn't bought me one in 10 years" drew jeers, and Lim Chae-moo remarked, "I don't have money to buy flowers. Even if I want to die, I can't afford to buy poison." This again drew derision. Park Myung-soo then asked, "Do you express your love?", to which Ms. Kim So-yeon explained, "He says, 'So-yeon, I love you.'" In response, Lee Yong-sik noted, "Although Lim Chae-moo may seem rough with words, he is affectionate when they're together. They say he sends heart gestures 60 times a day. He does this when no one is around."
Meanwhile, Lim Chae-moo was married to the late voice actor Park In-sook, and they had a son and a daughter, but he experienced the pain of loss when she passed away in 2015 due to bile duct cancer at the age of 59.
