The Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" swept this year's Blue Dragon Series Awards.
According to the entertainment industry on the 18th, "When Life Gives You Tangerines" received the grand prize at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards held at PARADISE City in Incheon on the same day.
In addition, the cast of "When Life Gives You Tangerines" won awards in four categories: Best Actress (IU), Best Supporting Actress (Yeom Hye-ran), and Popular Star Award (Park Bo-gum and IU).
The title "When Life Gives You Tangerines," which means "Thank you for your hard work" in Jeju dialect, portrays the love story of the determined girl Aesoon and the romantic man Gwan-sik, along with the family narrative. It was released in March and gained popularity.
IU noted in her acceptance speech, "I would like to express my respect and gratitude to all the Aesoons who have lived their own lives and to all the Geummyungs who have persistently planted and nurtured their ambitions across the world."
Meanwhile, the Best Drama award went to the Netflix series "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call." The lead actors Ju Jihoon and Choo Young-Woo received the awards for Best Actor and Best New Actor, respectively.
