Actor Yoon Hyun-min is directly sharing the reason for choosing 'Brilliant Days,' building anticipation even before the first broadcast.
The new KBS 2TV weekend drama 'Brilliant Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok, written by So Hyun-kyung) tells a family melodrama that resonates across generations, saying, 'Everyone has brilliant days. Whether now, in the past, or in the future, we encounter brilliant days with different meanings.'
Yoon Hyun-min passionately portrays Park Sung-jae, a close friend of Lee Ji-hyeok (played by Jung Il-woo), a man who is perfect in appearance, personality, abilities, and family background. Although Sung-jae has a slow and relaxed demeanor, as if contemplating life, he shows various sides depending on the situation. Outwardly, he appears to be a wealthy third-generation chaebol with no worries, but due to growing up in a cold family environment, he has a special affection for Ji-hyeok and his family, who exude warmth.
Returning to KBS after five years, Yoon Hyun-min noted the reason for choosing 'Brilliant Days,' saying, 'It is a human and warm work that contains the joys and sorrows of family. It is a work that interestingly unpacks a realistic family story that everyone has likely experienced at least once, so I felt naturally moved.'
He particularly worked hard to balance the character's emotions, saying, 'As this is a work with long breathing, I am trying to show many sides of myself this time.' He also mentioned the character Park Sung-jae, saying, 'The appealing and diverse sides that appear depending on the time and place will provide a fun experience of discovering new aspects as the episodes progress.'
Moreover, regarding his co-stars Jung Il-woo and Jung In-sun, he said, 'We became closer after the script reading, and we are creating 'Brilliant Days' by trusting and relying on each other,' predicting a fantastic chemistry among the actors.
Meanwhile, Yoon Hyun-min presented keywords describing Park Sung-jae as 'soft on the outside, tough on the inside,' 'boiled egg,' and 'between love and friendship.' He said, 'Sung-jae appears soft and harmless on the outside, but inside, he is very strict with himself, much like a boiled egg, where you can't tell if it's hard-boiled or soft-boiled until you peel it. For him, choosing between love and friendship is a significant challenge and the phrase that best describes him.'
Finally, he expressed, 'I am very nervous and excited to greet you with a KBS weekend drama after a long time. I will create a rich evening time with good appearances every weekend, so I ask for your interest and love,' encouraging viewers to 'tune in live.'
