Singer-songwriter Ahn Dayoung and alternative-pop duo Marrakech will hold a joint concert.
Ahn Dayoung and Marrakech will host the joint concert '0815 FRIDAY: Ahn Dayoung & Marrakech' (hereafter '0815 FRIDAY') at Rolling Hall in Seoul on Aug. 15.
'0815 FRIDAY' is the first joint concert that Ahn Dayoung and Marrakech are holding. With music fans' attention focused on the meeting of two artists from different genres, Ahn Dayoung and Marrakech have heightened anticipation for the concert by uploading photos taken together on their personal social media before the performance.
Ahn Dayoung and Marrakech will portray their unique musical world through the joint concert. Ahn Dayoung recently completed a successful solo concert celebrating the release of her second studio album 'WHERE IS MY FRIEND?' and will once again elevate the energy and excitement from that time. Marrakech plans to present all tracks from their EP, which is being unveiled about a year after the release of their single 'Self Control' last September, to the audience for the first time.
Ahn Dayoung first gained recognition by winning a gold medal at the 23rd Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest in 2012. She demonstrated her musical ability by receiving a special jury award for 'Best Rookie of the Year' at the EBS Space Sympathy with the post-rock band 'In Endless Reverberation We Are' she formed afterward, and she solidified her musical standing through her released studio album 'ANTIHERO' and EP 'Burning Letter' as a solo artist. With the release of her second studio album 'WHERE IS MY FRIEND?' in 2025, she has completed an album that encompasses both musical depth and popularity, continuing her active career as an artist who has grown to the next level.
Marrakech, a duo consisting of Kim Young-wook and Jo Sung-ha, debuted in 2019 with the single 'Floating.' They have showcased a genre of alternative-pop music based on nu-disco through seven singles and one EP. Their distinct characteristic is expressing the genre's unique danceability with Marrakech's restrained sensibility, delivering a refined charm with minimal sound and romantic lyrics. Marrakech is expanding their musical activities by joining Magic Strawberry Sound, wrapping up their past activities as independents.
Tickets for the joint concert '0815 FRIDAY' by Ahn Dayoung and Marrakech will be available for purchase starting today (18th) at 8 p.m. through Melon Ticket.
