Shin Ji confesses to taking medication for panic disorder, saying, "I read all the worries and concerns, and I will repay by focusing on my main work."
Koyote member Shin Ji has expressed her thoughts directly for the first time since the controversy.
On 17th, a video titled "How have you been lately?" was posted on Shin Ji's YouTube channel "What Do You Think?"
The video included footage of Koyote members moving after a performance. Shin Ji said, "This is the first video I'm posting since that last video," she cautiously opened up. The last video released earlier was a concept video introducing her fiancé, Moon Won, to the members.
Shin Ji said, "The release date for the new album has also been confirmed, and seeing how many fans are supporting me made me realize how many fans were hidden," adding, "I want to accept that feeling as positively, humbly, and cautiously as possible." She continued, "In fact, I know. I know who truly cares and who's making indiscriminate attacks. However, I understand that the majority are those who care about me," she added, "Some know that I'm getting married by the end of this year, but there is still time left. I'm thinking slowly, so please watch over me."
Shin Ji also confessed the difficulties she faced on stage for the first time after the controversy. She said, "After reading those posts, I was very nervous on my first stage. I was scared to be close to people," and revealed, "I secretly took medication for panic disorder in the car because my heart racing wouldn't settle down." Nevertheless, she added, "When I actually went up on stage, there were really many people cheering for me. I felt it was good that I read all those comments," she said, "Fans below the stage asked for high-fives while saying I looked pretty, but I couldn't even make eye contact. Still, I'm trying to focus on my main work."
Kim Jong Min and Baek Ga, who were present that day, emphasized, "We have a long way to go," and Shin Ji said, "Even though it was my first time on stage since that incident, I actually gained energy. The more difficult it is, the stronger I feel," she conveyed. Shin Ji stated, "I confirmed all the worries and interest sent to me without leaving a single one out," adding, "From now on, I will concentrate on my main work with a greater sense of responsibility and show that I am improving. Please look at it in the long term and continue to watch over me."
Earlier, Shin Ji attracted attention by announcing her marriage plans with 7-year-younger singer Moon Won in the first half of next year on June 23. Due to scheduling issues, she also completed her wedding shoot early.
However, on July 2, the concept video for the introduction released on Shin Ji's YouTube revealed that Moon Won had a past divorce and a daughter with his ex-wife, sparking controversy. Afterward, criticism and exposing posts surrounding Moon Won's past behavior continued online, causing a significant uproar. In response, the agency stated, "We are verifying the facts regarding the various allegations surrounding Moon Won," taking a cautious stance.
Moon Won also apologized through his social media, saying, "It is true that I worked in a real estate agency without qualification, and I deeply reflect on this," but he completely denied issues related to school violence, bullying during military service, and problems during the divorce process. It remains uncertain whether their marriage can proceed as scheduled. Despite the controversy, Shin Ji's heartfelt confessions and her future actions are drawing attention.
