Voice Easter eggs featuring actors Lee Byung-hun and Lee Ha-nee from the animated film 'The King of Kings' have been spotted.
On the 18th, the production team of the animated film 'The King of Kings' (directed by Jang Seong-ho, produced by Mopax Studio, distributed by D Station, co-distributed by Cites) revealed the voice Easter eggs within the movie.
A global hit K-animation 'The King of Kings', which depicts the journey of the remarkable British author Charles Dickens with his youngest son Walter into the greatest story from 2,000 years ago, has become a topic of interest. Following its release, the quest to find the voices has emerged as a key viewing point among audiences, leading to a wave of repeat viewings.
The main actors Lee Byung-hun, Lee Ha-nee, and Jin Seon-kyu expressed their depth by portraying multiple characters rather than being limited to a single one. Lee Byung-hun voiced a total of seven characters, including the narrator 'Charles Dickens'. He portrayed not only the voices of 'Scrooge', 'Nephew', and 'Kind Man' from Dickens's own novella 'A Christmas Carol', which he narrated, but also the character 'Joseph' from the story he tells to his son 'Walter', as well as 'God'.
In particular, the voice of the 'snake' appearing in the scene of the Garden of Eden was completed with Lee Byung-hun's distinctive and persuasive tone, leaving a strong impression among audiences and being regarded as a memorable scene.
Jin Seon-kyu expressed the central conflict of the narrative by portraying two opposing beings, 'Jesus' and 'Satan'. He created a stark contrast with completely different atmospheres for 'Jesus', filled with faith and compassion, and 'Satan', who incites temptation and division, receiving praise for maximizing the narrative tension with only his voice.
Moreover, the supporting cast who left a strong impression despite their brief appearances is also noteworthy. The protagonists include Lee Sung-mi, Kim Ji-sun, and Song Eun-yi, who participated as women 5, 6, and 7. Song Eun-yi, who played woman 7, said, "I thought I wanted to help promote the film, and I was grateful to have the opportunity to participate directly," adding, "Perhaps because I liked the movie so much, I was nervous while participating, but it was a rewarding experience." Lee Sung-mi, who played woman 5, emphasized, "When one thinks of animation, one might imagine a cute image, but this work also possesses vast visuals," stating, "If you want to fully feel that sensation, you must see it in theaters." Kim Ji-sun, who played woman 6, said, "I learned about the movie through the news, and when senior Lee Sung-mi suggested voice acting, I came rushing in without hesitation. I felt honored just to be able to participate in this project."
Additionally, Lee Sung-mi and Song Eun-yi played essential roles in the successful consolidation of the voice casting for this project. Upon hearing about the film's production, the two inquired whether they could see the work first, and they brought Lee Ha-nee along. Lee Ha-nee, pleased with the movie, made her decision to participate immediately and even recommended Jin Seon-kyu. This process resulted in the completion of the casting lineup including the main and supporting actors, veteran performers, and entertainers. Regarding this casting background, director Jang Seong-ho noted, "The casting turned out much better than we had planned or intended. I can only say that we were really lucky."
'The King of Kings', which revealed hidden voice Easter eggs from top actors such as Lee Byung-hun, Jin Seon-kyu, and Lee Ha-nee, is currently receiving enthusiastic support from domestic audiences and is showing in theaters nationwide.
