Meanwhile, Park Ji-yeon married comedian Lee Sugeun in 2008 and has two sons. However, during her second pregnancy in 2011, she suffered from pregnancy-induced hypertension, which worsened her kidney function, leading to a battle with illness. She received a kidney transplant from her father but has continued dialysis due to complications.
In this context, she has been advised by medical staff to seek a kidney re-transplant and has applied to wait for a brain-dead donor, planning to undergo her second surgery after receiving a kidney from her biological brother around mid-August.
