Director Min Jin-ki revealed his feelings about closely observing the personal controversy surrounding actress Lee Si-young, including her second pregnancy after divorce.
Min Jin-ki conducted an interview at a café in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 17th. He discussed the recently concluded ENA drama 'Salon de Holmes'.
'Salon de Holmes' features a top-notch detective, a former ace police officer, a king of insurance, and the queen of part-time jobs. The female quartet, united as problem solvers in our APT., punishes villains in the apartment in this comedic romantic action drama. It is adapted into a drama based on the novel of the same name. Notably, the drama concluded its 10th episode (finale) broadcast on the 15th, recording its highest viewership rating of 3.6% and receiving positive reviews. Thanks to this, Season 2 has been quickly confirmed.
In this context, Lee Si-young played the main character, Gong Mi-ri, who leads the 'Zoom Avengers' in the glorious APT. However, from the time of the show's release until its conclusion, she was frequently in the spotlight due to her shocking choice of divorce and pregnancy through in vitro fertilization afterward. Some raised suspicions that Lee Si-young, who appeared in a pants suit that concealed her belly at the production presentation, was already pregnant at that time.
Regarding the leading actress's personal issues, Director Min Jin-ki stated, "I did not know in advance either. I found out later. The filming can be a demanding and challenging task, and since there isn't a script or anything, it can take a considerable amount of time. It seems Season 2 will be produced after Lee Si-young's personal issues are somewhat resolved. Until then, it seems we also need enough time. "
However, he noted, "Regardless, since it is about a new life, I hope actress Lee Si-young has a safe delivery. At that point, to discuss other matters would be inappropriate since that child is already such a precious existence. We are observing that aspect."
Additionally, regarding when he learned about the pregnancy, he said, "I didn't know at the production presentation. After that, when the broadcasting began, I heard from Lee Si-young.
