Actor Do-yu will deliver a strong impact in The Defects.
Do-yu's agency, Stallion Entertainment, noted on the 17th that "Actor Do-yu will appear as Gyutae in the new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama The Defects."
The new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama The Defects, which will premiere at 10 p.m. on the 21st (written by Ahn So-jung, directed by Oh Gi-hwan, produced by Group Eight and Take One Studio), is an action thriller that depicts the desperate survival and revenge of children who barely survive after being abandoned by their adoptive parents and find themselves on the brink of death. Based on the Kakao webtoon that won the 'Best Creativity Award' at the International Content Market SPP 2017 and recorded over 51 million views, it has garnered high expectations even before airing.
In the series, Do-yu plays Gyutae, the close aide of Jong-hyun (Kim Jin-young), who is the actual operator of an illegal adoption trafficking organization. Gyutae, alongside Jong-hyun, is a character who searches for children under the orders of the perfect planner Kim Se-hee (Yum Jung-ah), raising dramatic tension and leaving a strong impression on viewers with his spectacular action skills.
Do-yu has built a solid acting foundation by shifting between various genres and characters. He made a mark with delicate emotional expressions in his debut work Alice: The Final Weapon and has left his unique charm in each production, including Love Law in the Big City, The Perfect Marriage Formula, The Fabulous, and Unlocking the Boss. In The Defects, he is expected to showcase a new acting spectrum by playing a character with a darker inner self, drawing anticipation for another transformation in Do-yu's acting.
